RC Pro National Series Round 16 - Sep 23rd - Sep 25th 2011
Gears RC Club, Harlingen, Texas - VP/PowerMaster driver, Jason Branham, cleaned house at Rd 16 of the RC Pro Series in Harlingen, TX taking TQ honours and the win in both classes.
The GEARS club in Harlingen built a gnarly track for this round and by the end of the event the track was so brutal, it pushed the drivers and their cars to the absolute limit. With the faster laps pushing the one-minute mark, there was no doubt, good fuel economy and a solid engine tune was going to prevail. In Pro Buggy, VP/PowerMaster drivers, Mike Battaile and Jason Branham got off to the early lead battling for the top spot. Mike’s race took a horrible turn when his chassis collected a rock stopping the flywheel its tracks. This allowed Jason to cruise on for the victory. Mike would come back with a top five finish taking the fifth position. VP/PowerMaster driver, David Joor, scored the third position on the podium after an outstanding run on the blown-out Harlingen track.
In the Pro Truggy class, it was ALL Branham. Jason took off from his pole position and never looked back. The battle was for second. Josh Glancy would win that one bringing home second place, with Mike Battaile locking in a solid third. Jason, Mike and David were all running VP/PowerMaster Nitro Race 30% Car formula for the power, fuel economy and the consistency they needed to put their rides on the podium.
