R/C Pro National Rd #11– Amarillo
Team VP/PowerMaster drivers, Mike Battaile and Kyle Skidmore, laid it down in Amarillo last weekend by dominating the Pro buggy and truck classes. The start of the Pro Truck main was tight.
For the first half of the race, the top five trucks were all battling for the lead spot. The competition was so close, one mistake could send you to the back of the pack. However, the long 45-minute main eventually took its toll on a few drivers, and once the dust started to settle, Mike (TQ) found himself with a pretty good lead. Mike ultimately built a near two-lap lead by the end solidifying his win. Kyle finished in second position with Ayrton Cook rounding out the top three. Mike used VP/PowerMaster 30% Premium Car blend to power his Mugen Seiki MBX6T Truggy for the TQ and win.

1/8 Nitro Pro Buggy
It looked like it was going to be a repeat for Mikey B in the Pro Buggy main. Mike actually TQ’d both classes starting at the front of the pack in the buggy class, as well. He got off to a great start with his Mugen Seiki MBX6 buggy steadily increasing the gap with each lap. However, bad luck struck Mike though within the first ten minutes as his fuel system developed a leak. This caused erratic engine behavior forcing him into the pits every three to four minutes for fuel and adjustments. This allowed Kyle Skidmore, Keevin Sharp and Scott Spear to take over the lead as all three were dicing back and forth swapping the top spot until finally Kyle managed to take it over and develop a bit of a cushion. Keevin still had Kyle in his sights, but Kyle kept smooth and steady locking in the win. Keevin took second with Scott finishing third. Kyle used VP/PowerMaster 30% Premium Car blend for his win.

1/8 Intermediate and Open Class
VP/ PowerMaster also dominated the Intermediate and Open classes as well. Jeff Durio charged hard with his PowerMaster-fueled buggy coming back from over a lap down to pass the leader and cruise on for the win in the Intermediate Buggy A-Main final. VP/PowerMaster also took TQ honors in the Intermediate Buggy class powering Danny Ramirez’ ride. Nicholas Goedert drove his PowerMaster-fueled 1/8 truck to victory in the 1/8 Open Truck A-Main final. Jeff and Nicholas both used VP/PowerMaster 30% Premium Car blend. For more info on the R/C Pro Series check out www.rcproseries.com.
